Chocolate, chocolate, more chocolate… There can not possibly be too much of a good thing, for sure. Moist and dense chocolate brownies are accompanied here by silky chocolate sauce, adding a sophisticated and somewhat elegant twist to this simple sweet delight.
I wanted to make something with mascarpone as I had some leftovers in my fridge, and came across this wonderful spongy and moist Lemon Cake with Lemon Mascarpone Cream. My taste buds voted – this dessert is an absolute winner: zestingly refreshing, mildly sweet and buttery rich.
Suitable for celebration of any memorable occasion (or simply to be enjoyed with a nice cup of tea), this spectacular cake beautifully brings out the best of three chocolates: the sweetness of the white, the richness of the milk and the light bitterness of the dark.
Another cheesecake this week! I personally favour baked (over chilled) cheesecakes in general, but this one is rather an exception. Simple, light, wonderful and refreshing, with a divine raspberry twist. Just perfect on a hot summer day.
Beautifully flavoured with maple syrup, tangy lemon zestiness and the sweetness of pecan nuts, this week’s simple dessert is perfect to be indulged with an afternoon tea. Easy to make, Maple, Pecan and Lemon Loaf is a delight in every bite!
Changing geographies again this week with a culinary trip to Germany. Well, sort of, but not exactly. Since I couldn’t decide whether to make a traditional Black Forest Cake or a chocolate cheesecake, I decided to ‘marry’ them instead and enjoy the best of both chocolate-based delights.
Switching culinary geographies by going to England with this week’s rich and flavourful dessert. A double chocolate twist raises this delectable treat to a new height of gustatory delight. Simply delish!
Friands are little cakes typically oval in shape, made with melted butter and ground almonds. Originally from France, they are quite popular in Australia – and for all good reasons. A combination of icing sugar (instead of caster sugar), egg whites (instead of whole eggs) and very little flour, makes them delightfully light, while the ground almonds keep them beautifully chewy and moist. This week, enjoy this divine dessert with orange mascarpone frosting.
Time for something healthy. Apples, oats and cinnamon are wonderfully married together in this simple and oh-so-good-for-you wholesome treat. Need another reason to bake those delicious Apple and Cinnamon Oatcakes? An extremely easy-to-make and quick recipe. Enjoy!
It’s been quite a while since last “cheesecake update”, so this week it is time for another “representative” of my all-time favourite cake. I decided to go for a magical combination of luscious dates and smooth caramel sauce that perfectly complement silky texture of cheesecake.
